I've already set my email notifications under settings and I'm still getting 20-40 emails a day about so and so joining this group and so and so started a discussion in this group. Do i have to unfollow all of the groups just to get this to stop? I really hope not!
Have you tried clicking "clear my follow list" and also logging into each group and clicking the "unfollow" button? This has not solved all of my incoming email issues but it has cut down quite a bit. I just clicked the "clear my follow list" button on email settings, so we'll see if that takes.
For now, if the problem persists, we're going to ask everyone to NOT receive notifications and then send out a weekly blast reminding folks to check their inboxes and friend requests. But we'd love to see if the following options work first.
VallartaVixen, thanks for posting this...I know that many emails could be totally obnoxious. It looks like the answer is to click Settings>>Email>> then click the button "Clear My Follow List". Then if you click "None" and"Save"...
After you do those and save, you could add back in specific emails you don't mind receiving. We're working on getting a weekly digest email out to TBEX members and will remind you to check friend requests and blog comments then if you'd prefer to wipe the slate clean on notifications...
Ok, I thought that might be the only solution. Obviously it would be nice to know when someone replied to a discussion or posted something new but I don't need to know what everyone is doing all of the time! :-)
It's really too bad there isn't a daily/weekly digest function within the system so that we could still find out what's going on in the places we've participated, but without getting bombarded with emails. Bummer you gals will have to do a weekly message manually! Maybe you can put in a feature request to Ning. :)
Thanks for the post. I'll try the suggestion. I will be happy with a weekly reminder email for now. Hope you sort out the problem. Keep up the good work!
