Hi all! I just joined the group. I'm a blogger based in London. I would love to meet up with others if there are any meetups happening this summer.

Thanks, Dave. Well, yes, there will not be any swimming I suppose, maybe just a stroll on the beach; that's nice too. Thanks for the tip.

Chris. June will not be too packed. Ancona is a city full of interest and a good place to swim in the sea below the war memorial. Water might be a bit cold still. Take the bus to Sirolo, from outside Ancona station, it's the bus to Numana, the Reni bus, or drive to Sirolo, for nice beach and good restaurants. And above all, remember that in that area everything except bars and restaurants closes up completely between 1 and 4. And quite often at other times too, especially on Sunday. When you've done your blog about it, let us know.

Dave,
Sorry not San Roberto but Monte Roberto - not far from Jesi and Ancona's airport is 15 to 20 minutes away. It's a tiny little thing. A member of our community Teachers Travel Web lives there.
Thanks for your reaction. We'll see about the beaches - June they will not be too packed I think.

Where in the Marche is San Roberto/Vianello? Not somewhere I can remember having seen or been to.
Many beaches in the Marche are quite breathable, but it all depends where San Roberto is.

Thanks, Karen. As we do not like jampacked beaches, we will certainly avoid the ones in Le Marche. The tiny villages sound great! As for buying a place ... maybe later when we retire.
