Travel Blog Exchange

I am totally new to this topic so please excuse me if my question sounds  a bit dumb. I tried to read through this forum but still couldn't quite figure it out...

I just started trying to make money from my blog http://denise-pulis-itchy-feet.blogspot.com/ and simply know how to add and use adsense google, but that only works if my ads get clicked.

Could you give me some tips (remember, I am technology-allergic, so it must be in simple terms) of what else I can do to earn some money?

Thank you in advance

Hi Denise,

This is a common struggle. You could write and sell an ebook, review travel products on your blog, add a store using Amazon... It all takes time and lots of traffic to make any of it work. A certain percentage of visitors will click or buy. To increase sales you need to increase your visitors so that the actual numbers of clicks and buys go up.

We're addressing these issues all the time at the Global Bloggers Network. GBN offers complimentary services to Travel Blog Exchange with the same objective: to help bloggers get the success they want.

I hope that helps,

Thanks for all your advice Janice!
I'd suggest making an Amazon store like I did, I had a lot of fun doing it plus I added the products I wanted on there. The blogs take time, I made $100 in the first 35 days but I pushed and pushed and PUSHED that bad boy out there hard. In the end I maybe made....50 cents an hour? lol

But I got 50 plus posts now (built up content) and have a small following, it can only grow from there.

Thanks,

Chad

Yes I did the same thing. I forwarded and advertised my blog to as many people as I could on as many websites as I could find and got a bit of money, but in the end it always depends on who clicks not on how many people visit. Took a look at your website and clicked a bit and will stop regularly again to read through it.
Here is mine if you care to take a look.

I checked you out too when I posted Denise, great blog. I clicked around a bit :-D and was happy to see the good content and advertising you had.

Keep in touch,

Chad
You have to be careful about clicking on ads from your own computer. Adsense recognizes IP Addresses. I always click on ads on my blog when I go to best buy or the library or whatever. But honestly in the two years I've been doing adsense- I've only made a couple hundred bucks on average. The real key is having direct advertisers on your site.

But don't do a travel blog to make money. Because you'll only make big bucks of you are rolling in the traffic. Do it because you love to travel and love to write about it. Hope this helps.

Yes, I tried that too (clicking from other computers) but as you said, it doesn't really make you money.
And I agree, from now on, my blog will be a labour of love. whatever happens after is not important.
