I've posted some of the strangest and least known places in Canada which I've visited on http://www.gonanaimo.com/canada/index.html.

Exactly which islands off the coast of Newfoundland do you mean? Saint Pierre and Miquelon? They're not in Canada.

IMHO, Nanaimo Harbour is nicer than Victoria Harbour. Victoria doesn't have anything like Newcastle Island and the Dingy Dock pub on Protection Island is always fun. Seaplanes and ferries come and go constantly while scores of yachts rock at anchor and eagles soar overhead. The snowcapped mountains you see in Nanaimo are all Canadian while those visible from Victoria are in the US.
Pacific Rim National Park on the west coast of Vancouver Island.
Montreal
Ottawa (seriously)
Okanagan Valley
Drumheller (the badlands of Alberta)
the Gulf Islands
Banff and Jasper National Park
Barkerville
Definitely Canadian Rockies, do the stretch from Jasper to Banff.
While I love Toronto and I think that most people miss out on the lovely park areas and the Toronto Beaches when they visit - I would have to say Lake Huron & Georgian Bay are my fave spots in Ontario. Try cottage towns like Southampton and Oliphant. Or on the Georgian side Dyers Bay & Tobermory. Walk the Bruce Trail if you have time!
Dinosaur Provincial Park in Alberta is one of my all-time favourites. The landscape is just like Drumheller, without the crowds - and the valley seems to appear so suddenly. One minute you're cruising past prairie farmhouses, canola fields stretching to the horizon; the next, you're in another world.

Schooner Cove, in Pacific Rim National Park.

Nanaimo's harbour (I'll second David's contention that it trumps Victoria's).

Toronto's Chinatown is a lot of fun, and the Harbourfront is dreamy on hot summer nights.
Lake Superior Provincial Park is one of my top places
Newfoundland - particularly Corner Brook (my hometown) and Gros Morne National Park. I've blogged about it at www.sheila0gh.wordpress.com

Mont Tremblant and its resort area  - story book beautiful
