Howdy All,

Thought I'd let you guys know about a competition we're running on Facebook - Terrifying Travel Tales.

In a nutshell, whether you were scammed out of cash, fell out of a tuk-tuk or your culinary adventures landed you in the hospital, we want to know what
happened, how you reacted and what advice you would give to other
travellers about how to avoid or survive the situation.

We'll pick the best 3 entries each month till we close Nov 30th, then we'll invite the community to judge their favourite. The winner gets to pick one amazing adventure from the following four below.

No doubt the travel blogging community with deliver some amazing stories, we look forward to hearing them and would love any support in promoting this to your communities.

Prize Options -

Join the Tribe in Vorovoro, Fiji with Tribewanted

Spend two weeks on Vorovoro living on the beach and becoming a part of a Fijian tribe. Drink kava under the stars and be sung to sleep by men
wielding ukuleles and guitars. Join the meke (dance) classes or
jewellery making and coconut workshops. Spend your time snorkelling,
fishing and swimming on the third largest reef in the world. Participate
in mat weaving, language and culture lessons, gardening or just some
hammock time. You'll have two weeks to make our Fijian island your home.

shopping ($15 Fijian return). The prices attached to these activities are to
cover the fuel costs of running the associated boats.

Hi Chris,
Sounds fantastic.I bet there'll be a lot of entries.I'll put one in myself, in fact I had just posted on my blog about an incident in Ethiopia that sticks in my mind.And it may just prompt in readers minds, some thought about how we travellers may detrimentally impact on local poor people.I mean, we may be 'sustainable' or environmentally aware, and think we're just taking photos and leaving footprints behind, but perhaps we inadvertantly are careless, and leave lasting impacts behind?
