Cross promotion on each other's facebook fan pages

You've got a Facebook fan page! Welcome to the club!

Now you need fans and good content. Will your site give you enough to keep your fans happy? Where will facebook users find out about your fan page?

How about teaming up with other facebook fan pages and cross promoting each other's content? You'll have more to offer your fans and more exposure to a larger fan base!

Join a friend's facebook fan page.
Contact them to arrange a team effort of cross promotion
Keep an eye out for their content
When you see it be sure to share it on your own fan page wall and with your friends.

Pretty simple really. This way your fans get regular content even when you're not blogging.

Nice post. It's true promoting on each others pages helps to grow a fan page. I have a friend who was able to use this strategy and his fan page went viral to about 1.5million views. If you get a catchy topic it can help alot as well.
http://networkquakeblueprint.com has some additional strategies for marketing fan pages. The key is really mass numbers and a topic that rocks.

Rather than just exchanging links to each other's facebook fan pages (which has been done on the wall of this group) i suggest contact direct thru people's facebook pages on their walls. Pitching reasons why collaborations should be done. Particular content you might have that's worth sharing, etc.

A more focussed effort produces greater results.

I'd also like to jump on this bandwagon please guys! My page has only been up a few days but it's where my blog post feed will be directed to from now on, so I don't continue to bore my 'real life' friends if nothing else! I've heard that fbook is more effective than twitter for getting people engaged, but I'm active on there also.

We're always happy to promote great articles via our Facebook Fan Page - http://www.facebook.com/worldnomads.

I generally subscribe to travel blogs via Google reader, then post articles we feel relevant to our FB community. I also add the FB fan page (if you have one) within the wall post using the @ to help build fans as that appears not only in our feed, but yours as well as any others we add to the post.
