My interview with author Kathy Fish about her life in Sydney and her roots in the American Midwest. We also discuss her fiction. Another installment in the Expat Author Interview Series at I MUST BE OFF.

I had the best time in Morocco, stumbling around on the little bit of Arabic and Berber I picked up.  It's incredible how kind and generous people are when it comes to learning a language and the leeway people allow you when you make an effort.  For the best phrases in Berber and Arabic, check out The Little Red Hen.

Thought I'd share a post related to language.

Not knowing the language should never be a barrier for anyone to visit a place. With one word we learnt from the locals, we were able to communicate and connect with the people of Leh.
