Hi guys. I´m working on a new blog series to help people plan their RTW and career break trips. I want to showcase blogs, articles, tools, products and services that can help someone. I have written an open letter to the travel community on my website. Here is the link. http://su.pr/1s2bL9 I would appreciate any input. All the best. Jeff

Hello all. After my 2 year career break, I´ve started a site called Career Break Secrets. I´m always interested in what trips people are taking. If any TBEXer is in need of any travel advice, hit me up. I´m now living in Bogota, Colombia. So, if you´re passing through, be sure to look me up. All the best.

We're planning a year-long trip to New Zealand, South America, Europe and Japan next year...look forward to meeting other long-term travellers.

Is 10 months considered long?
I and husband let go our apartment and backpack for the past 10 months. We haven't planned to come back yet.

I'm writing a travel safety story on Peru, anyone traveled there and have some great tips to share with others?

We've taken several round-the-world trips of six months or longer and have found that we get pretty tired of living out of a suitcase after three months. The need to settle in and rest for a while hits us at that stage. Our answer is to limit longer trips to three months and return home to recharge before heading out on the road again. Or, we find a place to rent in the country we're visiting and use it as a base to explore the country in more depth. It's worked pretty well so far and it avoids those run-down illnesses and the attack of the "Not another gold covered temple!" syndrome.

Hey all! @Rob want to know how sad our state has become? We're both super sick with some evil form of Indian bronchitis, possibly even pneumonia, and glad for the excuse to stay in and not do ANY sightseeing. :) Good chance to work on the re-launch and re-design of our website though! Of course...which caused which? The chicken or the egg?

@Rob Yeah I've found that too. Sight-seeing is good and all but day in day out it gets repetitive no matter how good the sights are. I find festivals, meeting old (and new) travel mates or new couch surfing hosts more exciting than seeing the sights now.

I've been living in Bali for 6 months now, and I don't know about anyone else but I wake up in bed feeling almost lost in the world, strange feeling when you haven't seen home or your roots in a long time. Disorientating is probably the best way to describe it!

Anyone ever get bored? I'm 3.5 months in and getting sick of seeing sights and hanging out on the beach. Sure I sound spoiled but it's true. Happen to anyone else? Any good ideas on somewhere (I know of Bangkok) where you can get a reasonably priced apartment to just "chill" in a/c with a fast internet connection? Fast reliable internet is probably the #1 priority with a/c being second.
