Travel Blog Exchange

The blogs that I enjoy reading post pretty often, sometimes every day. However, we are planning to leave on our rtw trip in about 18 months, so if I only write posts relating to the trip, they are going to be pretty sparse. Would you rather read regular posts, even if they are not strictly on subject? Or do you prefer less frequent posts?

just post if you have a idea. you can post from your past trip or from the stories of your friend.
I'm a daily poster myself. More than that is too much like twitter, and less than that doesn't get page views. If you want quality over quantity I think as long as you make a quality post weekly your readers will stick around.
I wish I knew the answer to this question. I've heard that more than twice a week is too much. I've also heard that less than once a day is too little. What's more important, I think, is that the topics are engaging and the writing is good. If you've got those two aspects nailed down you'll have readers.
I think you can do a mix between the two. It's nice to read small and light highlight of the day or week article. Then when you have time, make the longer and more comprehensive ones.
Gee, I'm really tempted to say post when you have something to say. But what kind of blog do you hope to produce: just for fun (that's me in a nutshell), serious but not your whole life or monetized-I'm -gonna-starve-if-this- sucker-don't-sell

I don't think I'd worry about posting just about the rtw trip, obviously. Your readers aren't going to wait for that. For me, posting every day would be like giving birth every day. It's just waaay too much work but obviously you can't let your readers forget you, either. Once a week is probably a minimum.

Once a day would be kinda often, seems to me.
i post daily.. cause i have things to write about ..
whether they are insightful or not ... you could blog a picture, smell, taste or anything else that tickled your fancy ...
well... I myself post an entry at least once a month.. since i'm also busy in my day job and I don't travel as often as I can so I tend to sometime post previous travels as soon as I can.. :D

Post as often as possible.  Best bet is to do it at a regular rate....  Everyday, once or twice a week...

Post as much as possible, perhaps once a day. That's what my friends told me. but I wasn't able to do so. :))

I see nothing wrong with frequent (daily) posting, when possible, during your RTW. I agree with Rishi that posts can be simple as a picture, taste or smell. I have more friends and family followers than other readers, so for that crowd, it would be a good way to check in and let everyone know everything's ok when I'm on the road.
