Have you checked the TBEX site? The organizers have arranged some discounted rates through several Vancouver hotels....
I think the link is http://www.tourismvancouver.com/media/tbex11/accommodation OR check the main TBEX link (URL is on TBEX '11 Attendees group page)...hope that helps!

I'm planning on staying at one of the hotels listed on the accommodations page on the Tourism Vancouver site. I'm just waiting to see if there's anyone out there who wants to split accommodations, so that it's a little less expensive. :)

Should there be a separate roommates thread?

From the looks of it, some attendees are already planning to split costs on rooms, so a roomie thread wouldn't be a bad idea.

I'm looking at the HI-Jericho Beach Hostel. I've stayed there before. I'd also be interested in sharing either a hotel room or an apartment or whatnot. Has anyone tried airbnb.com?

Well HI-Jericho Beach is full for the dates I wanted, so I am going to take advantage of the SameSun Backpackers Hostel discount of 50% for TBEX attendees. $64 CDN for four nights. Not too bad for Vancouver.
