A small group is staying at the Sunset Inn on Burnaby. Welcome to join us.
BF and I are staying there too!
This seems like a perfect place to list this.  I am actually looking for a roommate at TBEX to share the costs of the hotel.  I haven't booked a hotel yet so if anyone is interested, please send me a message or contact me on Twitter and let me know (@budgettravelsac)
Hello everyone – Coast Hotels & Resorts is a Bronze Sponsor of this event and The Coast Plaza Hotel & Suites has offered special rates. See www.CoastPlazaHotelAndSuites.com for hotel information. Or book on-line at http://www.coastpromos.com/hgq Guest rooms & Suites with full kitchens are available.
I'm planning on staying at one of the hotels on the TBEX accommodations site. Don't be fooled by the prices you see on-line - I had to call to get the TBEX rate. The regular daily rate was much higher.
I'm booked at the Holiday Inn Express Metrotown, and I have been told by one of my readers that it is the best experience he has ever had at a HIX.  Its a little ways away, but directly connected to the skytrain.
We were just in Vancouver and the Skytrain is great. Cheap, fast, clean and on time - a great way to get around. Just be careful in the stations; they have multiple exits and if you come out on the wrong street, you can be totally lost.

I plan on taking the SkyTrain from the convention center to the airport at the end of TBEX. Do you know how long the train ride is from the convention center (or a station near by) to get to the airport. I guess I am not sure whether or not to take a cab (don't know how traffic is in Vancouver) or take the SkyTrain.

I'll be taking the SkyTrain as well.  I'm not sure what my exit is yet, but I'm staying near the convention center (so I think that exit should suffice).

Hi guys,

The Sky Train takes 25-30 minutes from downtown to YVR.

To get to YVR from downtown, you'll be taking the Canada Line (the newest line built for the Olympics) from Waterfront Station or Vancouver City Centre Station (the two nearest stations to the Convention Centre) .

The Sky Train costs $5 for three zones (downtown to YVR) during peak hours, and $2.50 off peak and on weekends. When coming from the airport into downtown there is a $5 ad fare.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Amber, that information is extremely helpful!

I ended up getting an iphone/ipad app called TransitTimes which shows all the public transportation timings and maps for Vancouver...I think that should be really helpful.
