Recently been sourcing out solutions for music on our youtube videos. Want to be certain that we are accessing music that we have the rights to use, long-term, including on monetized videos.
We are looking both into commissioning some music directly from a musician and finding other sources of cost effective music.
Curious, where do you get your music from?

Permalink Reply by Courtney Mroch on January 17, 2012 at 10:46am I don't know how I missed this before. I get my music, when I use it, from the same place as Darryl. There's also another place called Partners in Rhyme http://www.partnersinrhyme.com/ that offer free music. But for some reason my new laptop doesn't want to accept their files. But they have some groovy free tunes too.
Permalink Reply by Carol Perehudoff on January 18, 2012 at 1:42pm I get mine from the royalty free music on iMovie. But it gets old fast. I'm running out of new tunes. For my most recent video I paid a couple of guitarists in Nicaragua a few bucks to let me video them. I think that's okay. I HOPE that's okay.
Permalink Reply by Darryl Musick on January 18, 2012 at 1:48pm Did you get something in writing from them that they allow you to use it in your video for free, or outlining terms of payment? Or at least get them on video/sound saying the same thing? If not, you don't have their permission.
