Comment by Darryl Musick on April 2, 2012 at 9:20am One of the richest gold mining areas was the south end of California's Motherlode where a few mines still operate. On a brand new report at The World on Wheels, we visit Mariposa which not only celebrates its place in Gold Rush history and the home of John C. Fremont, but offers a great, relaxing escape from the bustling cities below. With plenty of pictures and a new video: http://tinyurl.com/8xz26bt

Comment by Darryl Musick on March 30, 2012 at 9:37am On the conclusion of our Midwest Baseball Tour at The World on Wheels, we take a side trip to Monroe Elementary School in Topeka, Kansas...where Oliver Brown's daughter attended. They're better known as the Brown in Brown v. The Topeka Board of Education, a landmark suit for civil rights. Now, it's a national historic monument. With video and pictures, we also visit the state historical museum and find one heck of a good comfort food restaurant: http://tinyurl.com/37lhfcy
