Hello! My name is Alan. I currently work as a cost-of-living surveyor in Boston, MA and have the unique opportunity to travel to cities all over the world. From Novosibirsk, Russia to Accra, Ghana, I write about my travels and work experiences. One of my favorites - the time I bribed three women in a Nigerian supermarket to get permission to collect prices. Interestingly enough, the bribe was Pringles, Red Bull, and fresh yogurt. Go figure?

I write at the 9 to 5 alternative, my virtual home on the Internet super-highway. When I'm not writing about travel, I write about lifestyle design and entrepreneurship.

How soon is too soon to start attending conferences and events?
