New Orleans Road Food Festival

New Orleans Road Food Festival!Today John and I hopped on our bicycles and rode down town towards the French Quarter on this sunny, gorgeous 81F day. We were not just riding down to the French Quarter to browse along the cobble stone streets, we were on a mission. This weekend, six blocks of Royal Street was shut down and taken over by gourmet food trucks and vendors from New Orleans and around the country. Some 50 stalls were set up, offering everything from Oyster Po'Boys, Crawfish Sausages,…See More

We are a couple of twenty-something designers who have decided to step away from the routine of 9 to 5 life and venture out to new horizons.

Having just completed a 9 month journey by sea across the Caribbean and into Colombia we returned to the U.S. to opened up our design agency. Our goal for 2010? To become100% location independent!
We're plotting out our next grand adventure overseas while exploring the sites and sounds of the south-east region.

Follow our blog as we hop and jaunt from place to place with only life and adventure as a destination!

Japan: Why The Sun Will Rise Again

We Heart Japan
We Heart Japan

On March 11 at 2:46pm Japan was hit by a 8.9/9.0 magnitude earthquake. While the country has built up and trained for earthquakes this one was a monster, unleashing a massive tsunami upon this island nation. The destruction was both immediate and horrific. Yet, it could have been worse had the Japanese people not been Japanese. This post…

Willemstad - A Picturesque Tour

We've been in Curacao for over a month now. I know we should have posted a new blog by now but we have been super busy between exploring this island and the normal boat work to keep afloat! In these past few weeks we've also been able to meet so many new and interesting people that we may actually have a "social" life going for the first time in 5 months. There have been some major changes that have been taking place to our trip itinerary (we'll go into that in detail later) and a minor… Continue

Sailing Into Curacao

Spanish Waters

As “Land Ahoy!” echoed through Quercus, our sailboat, a flock of neon pink flamingos flew past us headed back to Bonaire. We had sailed out of Kralendjik, Bonaire, earlier that morning and after another quick down wind sail we were rounding the southern tip of Curacao. The wind was 20-25kts with the waves around 5-7ft and we were under full genoa and main. Our destination in Curacao was Spanish Waters, one of the most protected… Continue

Hop and Jaunt’s “Believe It or Not”

While traveling throughout the Westward Antilles we’ve seen quite a lot of amazing things. Each day is filled with breath taking scenery. Picturesque white sandy beaches stretch right across our front yard (figuratively speaking). We have seen dramatic landscapes with towering island mountains that drop off sharp cliffs and straight into the sea. Living right on the surface of the world’s largest aquarium has given us the opportunity to view an astounding quantity of tropical sea life, and… Continue

Hey you guys, saw your 'newbie' question on the Vodcasters group. Just wanted to say the Galavanting gals usually shoot in 1080p, but edit & encode into 720p (1280x720), that way there's room to crop, etc., without losing quality. It also gives a nice crisp picture without compromising quality. There's a discussion here where a fellow TBEXer gave me some great encoding advice a while back, and it's been really helpful since. Happy video-editing!!
