In the first millieum AD, Teotihuacan was the largest city in the pre-colombian Americas. It is estimated that during it’s time it may have had more than 100,000 inhabitants, making it one of the largest cities of it period.The site is located in the State of Mexico, Mexico, about 40 kilometers Northeast of Mexico City.The layout of the site is based around a main broad avenue, refered to as “The Avenue of the Dead”.
