Dissemination of Hotel Information for People with Disabilities

Quite possibly the most important part of setting up a travel site for people with disabilities is providing the correct information regarding accommodation facilities and displaying it in a clear manor. On my blog Accessible Everything I have been playing with ideas of how to show hotel information and have also looked at various other web pages that give information in different ways and different levels of detail.

One of the conclusions that I have drawn is that either not enough… Continue

Since AccessibleBarcelona started growing I have often received emails from people with disabilities asking if we only operate in Barcelona. People that have stayed in Barcelona through using the services of AccessibleBarcelona also frequently get back in touch for advice regarding other cities and asking if we can help them arrange trips to other destinations.

I’ve often thought about… Continue

Hey Craig, nice to meet you! Found your blog through here and really enjoyed it! Accessible travel (for all) is not something I've really though about before in my own little (I've now realised selfish) bubble. Your blog has definitely opened my eyes! Best wishes, jen x

I lost the link to the Ning community you sent me a few days ago. Can you please re-send?

Hey Craig, I'm so klutzy I now can't find the comment I made (mere moments ago) - but thanks for your comments back. I'm sure we're on the same wavelength. I was responding to something you said (I paraphrase) about the label of "accessible" being inadequate in descriptions of properties.
I agree it's necessary to have a widely-used search term so everyone can find each other.
Also agree it's just the starting point - the details of what makes a place "accessible" are also relevant, depending upon the traveller's needs.
Glad to know that you are so involved in Tour Watch - I'm a very inactive member there. Scott has been very nice and encouraged me in writing about accessible travel. I don't have the same outlet for that writing as I once did, so my activity level is pretty low in the accessible travel community, but I do like to hear of developments and look forward to reading what you create.
Again, best wishes with your work.

Great stuff Craig. I'm still trying to get things off the ground in Prague but it's been difficult to say the least - mainly because of time constraints. Anyway, will aim for something by end of Q1.

Welcome to TBEX! I'm glad to see what you're doing, because there seem to be very little information easily accessible about disability travel. I've got the question a couple of times from other bloggers and haven't had any good answers for them unfortunately.
