Happy researching that trip to Japan! If you will be on a limited budget be sure to plan around the dates of some of the larger festivals and free events if possible. There are many to choose from and a joy to participate in even as a bystander.

Must see? Hmmm...I went for 1 month and stayed for 6mo :) I recommend going to the islands (especially on the Andaman side) last because you might get stuck there!

You guys have two things going for you in my books - you're Canadian and you're going to visit Japan! I was raised in Vancouver and my folks now live on the island while I hang out in Japan for most of each year.

Traveling Couples

Are there any other traveling couples out there? Can you comment on the ups and downs, tips etc? My partner and I spend a tremendous amount of time together - I wonder how the 24/7 nature of long term travel will be when we leave on our RTW in June.
