Hello fellow Latin America lovers,
I recently moved to Colombia to work for viventura, a tour operator that specializes in small group tours to South America. We created a Christmas Game contest that offers a grand prize of a FREE 15 day…
Hi, my name is McKenzie, I am living in Ecuador for 2 years but have also traveled in other parts of Central and South America. If you want to check out my blog, here is a link:

Hey everyone, Ill be blogging and video blogging from Costa Rica, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina and Brazil starting May 2nd. Here is my travel blog http://scottpritchett2011.blogspot.com. I hope you visit it and press the follow button on my blog!
Thanks for the request. How much longer do you have in Latin America and where are you going? I recently got back from just a month in Peru and Bolivia, wishing I was still there! Hope you're having a great time in Columbia!
What I know is mostly business-related. There's a place there called Zona Franca de Manaus where goods are produced with lower taxes -- mostly TVs and motorcycles. Japanese companies have been there for a while, and recently they were expanding the business but things got paused due to the crisis. Korean companies arrived there in the 1990's, I think.
Tourism stuff... Manaus and Belem were cities developed during the Rubber Economic Cycle of the early 20th Century, there are some historical buildings in the city from that period. That's a possible angle for you.
I think you could write a little something about moto-taxis (yup, taxis on motorcycles).
The lack of information could give you another little blurb -- "Do people in the Amazon walk around like Tarzan, using a liana as transportation? Are there monkeys in the streets?" etc etc.
And "monkeys on the streets" just reminded me of that Blame it on Lisa, an episode from the Simpsons. VERY funny, too sad the mayor from Rio at the time had no sense of humor.
I'm just being wordy now. :-) Feel free to reach me through email if you want to discuss details of your story: diogoslima at gmail.
I loved Colombia-- all of it that I saw (Mompox, Santa Marta, Taganga, Barranquilla, Cartagena) and wish I could have spent more time in Parque Tayrona, a gorgeous national park. Here are some articles that might be useful to you:
It's on location for our popular sequel to last week's Tequila Party video on this week's Cocktail Hour at The World on Wheels. From Yuma, Arizona, we enlist two of our Mexican uncles...true, expert aficionados of their national drink…
For those who are in the Networked Blogs group, we can exchange blogs or follow each others blogs to build out network. This site is linked to Facebook so you need to link it with FB.
Shanna, I think you'll find the networking -- meeting other bloggers -- is pretty cool. And some of the seminars and info, too. I think if you go with limited expectations, you won't be disappointed.
