Hope all well! Look forward to hear about your new name!!?? A lot depends on what your long term goal is, and what theme you want to create. I'm really busy with my business and find the linking time consuming etc (which is probably why I haven't got on to Twitter yet as you suggested). But I still think that if you keep writing relevant good stuff you get picked up on the search engines and your readers end up "with you". I wrote an article recently on a NZer who plays our national sport rugby (who usually beat the English!!) and lives in Paris http://thefrenchway.wordpress.com/2010/04/30/andrew-mehrtens-in-paris/. I get large number of searches every day, more than off "links", but then again that may be because I don't have enough links!!! A bientot, John

I'm always open to link exchanges, guest posts (both ways ideally), involvement in relevant blog carnivals, feedback and really any friendly contact from fellow travel bloggers.

I'm a recent convert to blogging using the basic wordpress.com set up and am pleasantly amazed at how much you can do with it.

As a freelance journalist, my work covers travel, arts, entertainment, marketing and general lifestyle subjects. My 'day job' is in cultural marketing. I live and work in Edinburgh, Scotland with my fiance and many precarious piles of travel books.

It's never too soon to start networking and building your relationships with other travel bloggers, editors, etc., Shanna. Attending conferences is one way to do that. That said, some conferences are better than others. I'll have to let…

How soon is too soon to start attending conferences and events?

I have a 2 month old travel blog that I have been working very hard to establish.  What I am trying to figure out is how soon is too soon to start attending travel events and conferences? Will it be a boost to my blog at this point, or will it be a relative waste of time?  Is it too soon to start networking and making contacts?  What do you think?Have any of you attended any conferences or events, and what was your experience? Thanks so much for your input,Shanna…See More
