Gorging Yourself: A Must in Italy

Out of all of my experiences in Italy, one of the best has to be eating a traditional meal as the Italians do. When Blake and I went to Italy, we made the mistake of spending too much time in the country. It’s not that Italy isn’t fabulous; it’s just that we didn’t realize how expensive it is to travel. Since we weren’t able to always find great deals on accommodation, our diet had to suffer our small budget deficit. We spent a little more than a month in Italy, and we only ate meat two or… Continue

Hi Lindsey!

Just saw your comments on my wall. Oops!

RE: oregon, I'm 5 months pregnant, so we are staying stateside until the baby is born. I have been living overseas before that though and we'll be going to Europe this spring.

RE: travel writing courses. Well, I don't think you can say everything is a scam... I haven't seen the discussion you mentioned, but I will say that one course is not going to make ANYONE a travel writer. Even a journalist with a bunch of clips elsewhere is going to have to apply themselves to make relationships with the right editors and actually write marketable stuff. So the thing I watch out for is anything that promises a career. They can promise to teach certain content, but the whole "You can be a travel writer, take this course" is unlikely to pan out.

Cheers!

Christine
