This group is for teachers that like to travel and teach students about different cultures. Perhaps these people are substitutes, retirees, homeschoolers, English/TESOL teachers, expats, etc. If you consider yourself a teacher, join the group!

Hi Lindsey, I am a flight attendant who would like to share my travel experiences. I have lived in Venezuela, Argentina, France, Beligum, and Turkey. I am interested in becoming a video post author. Please email me at jtemplerobinson@gmail.com.

I interview a local each location I visit. It really changes the travel experience. I have to really get out there and get under the skin of a location, find a theme that represents it. For me, seeking and meeting locals has lead to some of the most…

I never actually had been homesick before except for the 1st 6 months trying to settle into my expat life in Saigon. I went thru two family deaths, and christmas totally alone which added to me missing my family and friends. I will say that I found…

Gorging Yourself: A Must in Italy

Out of all of my experiences in Italy, one of the best has to be eating a traditional meal as the Italians do. When Blake and I went to Italy, we made the mistake of spending too much time in the country. It’s not that Italy isn’t fabulous; it’s just that we didn’t realize how expensive it is to travel. Since we weren’t able to always find great deals on accommodation, our diet had to suffer our small budget deficit. We spent a little more than a month in Italy, and we only ate meat two or three… Continue

Hi Lindsey!

Just saw your comments on my wall. Oops!

RE: oregon, I'm 5 months pregnant, so we are staying stateside until the baby is born. I have been living overseas before that though and we'll be going to Europe this spring.

RE: travel writing courses. Well, I don't think you can say everything is a scam... I haven't seen the discussion you mentioned, but I will say that one course is not going to make ANYONE a travel writer. Even a journalist with a bunch of clips elsewhere is going to have to apply themselves to make relationships with the right editors and actually write marketable stuff. So the thing I watch out for is anything that promises a career. They can promise to teach certain content, but the whole "You can be a travel writer, take this course" is unlikely to pan out.

Cheers!

Christine
