I am a three-time Emmy-award-winning television writer/producer/editor/video consultant with more than fifteen years of experience. I have recently launched LLmedia Video Consulting and am now using my expertise to help others improve their video for the web & their business. I produce a variety of broadcast specials, including, most recently, food & restaurant segments for Chicago’s Best on WGN-TV. For nearly ten years, I produced an award-winning weekly lifestyles, travel, and entertainment magazine show on ABC Chicago.
After 15 years in television, I took a sabbatical of sorts, which turned into 3+ years traveling and working my way around the world. I write about travel and the (mis)adventures that ensue as I traipse around the globe on my travel website, LLworldtour.com, which has readers from all over the world. I was interviewed live on WGN-TV’s Morning News and ABC’s Good Morning America about travel. My site was a finalist in the 2008 Weblog Awards and listed as one of nationally-syndicated-columnist, Chris Elliott’s, Travel Blogs I Can’t Live Without and Top 20 Most-Inspirational Blogs.”
I have also been featured on MSNBC.com, Frommers.com, the Chicago Daily Herald, the NJ Daily Record, Women on the Road, The Travel Chicks Radio Show, Amateur Traveler Podcast and Chicagoist. Furthermore, my articles and photographs have been published by Sunset Magazine, Smithsonian Online, The Chicago Tribune, The Dallas Morning News, The Boston Globe, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Go Nomad, Brave New Traveler, and Briefcase to Backpack. My writing is also syndicated on Encyclopedia Britannica, the Huffington Post, USAToday, and eHow.
I have teamed up with Whole Foods, REI, and Hostelling International for 'traveling solo' talks and several 'Travel & Food' lectures. I also host the Chicago portion of the annual national "Meet, Plan, Go!" event encouraging working Americans to take career breaks and sabbaticals. I was recently a panelist at the third annual Travel Blog Exchange (TBEX) Conference speaking about travel video.
Wow. Sounds great! I am wondering--should i even bring a backpack (with my laptop) to the first day on Saturday?? Or is this "bag" a backpack that i can slip my laptop into?? It would be great to know so many of us aren't lugging 2…
Hi, Lisa. Could you still be our guest on our travel talk radio show (taped this week instead of live because of inauguration) Thursday Jan. 22nd at 11:00 a.m. Eastern? Did you get Dan Weiner's (our producer's) email to your private email address? Hope you are still available. Please email us your phone number and talking points asap. Thanks!
All the best,
Ann of "The Trip Chicks"
