Trying to plan a trip to Disneyland in LA. They are having a good discount on the hotel now, but I hear even with discount its better to stay in a separate hotel across the street. Any thoughts? Other tips for the Magical Kingdom?

How soon is too soon to start attending conferences and events?
I have a 2 month old travel blog that I have been working very hard to establish. What I am trying to figure out is how soon is too soon to start attending travel events and conferences?Will it be a boost to my blog at this point, or will it be a relative waste of time?
