Recently I organised and blogged on www.50in50.co.uk
This was the journey by Hugh Williams-Preece from Lisbon to London, 50 marathons in 50 days in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care. March to April 2010. The blogs are now available as a book.
I want to specialise in blogging on adventure travel, particularly endurance events having a keen interest in arctic and desert environments. I'm a complete amateur - 50in50 being my first paid job as expedition manager and blogger - and my 'real' job is as a chartered surveyor.
I don't have my own website yet though will be setting one up shortly. See www.50in50.co.uk for the marathon blogs and video diaries. There is also a section on a rapid development clinic in climbing I attended for a month at the National Mountain Centre, Plas Y Brenin, Snowdonia.
I think it is never too soon to start networking!
I really want to go to the TBEX 12 conference to get some fresh ideas in content creation, promotion and other related to my travel blogging!

It's never too soon to start networking and building your relationships with other travel bloggers, editors, etc., Shanna. Attending conferences is one way to do that. That said, some conferences are better than others. I'll have to let…
I have a 2 month old travel blog that I have been working very hard to establish. What I am trying to figure out is how soon is too soon to start attending travel events and conferences?Will it be a boost to my blog at this point, or will it be a relative waste of time?
