A Perfect Day in Napa?

What could be better? Driving through beautiful Napa Valley without having to worry about directions (or your sobriety), led by a knowledgable guide who takes you to vineyards where you learn all about the wines of the region. After a delicious lunch, it's off to more wineries until the shuttle delivers you back to your hotel.Sounds pretty good, right? This is exactly what it was like to join one of the Platypus Wine Tours. We visited four wineries:…See More

Hello Sarah,

I am pleased to announce the Wandering Off has been accepted to the Travel Blogs list on Historical Travel . If you could link back I would be most appreciative and humbled (over dramatizing here a bit).

Old South Church in Boston's Back Bay

As a fan of architecture, particularly Renaissance and Renaissance-inspired styles, I found plenty of beautiful buildings to explore in Boston. One of my favorites is the Old South Church, which can be found in the Back Bay neighborhood near Trinity Church and the Boston Public Library.

A Big Pecan and Other Adventures in Seguin, Texas

To be honest, I didn't have a clear idea of what we would do during our afternoon in Seguin, Texas. I will admit, however, that I had read about the world's largest pecan. What can I say? I love the fun photo-ops for little E., even if they're kind of silly.

Seguin is a small town located about 30 miles east of San Antonio, and it is known as "The Mother of Concrete Cities" because so many of its buildings are made of the material.

Half a Day in Fredericksburg, Texas

About an hour's drive northwest from San Antonio, you'll find the Hill Country town of Fredericksburg, Texas. Here's how we spent our afternoon in this history-filled town:

Fredericksburg Brewing Company: This is the place to stop for a beer and some lunch. I enjoyed a Not So Dumb Blonde Ale and an order of… Continue
