Slow and never-changing Sanur

If Kuta & Seminyak appeals to the young & hippie, Sanur would be the place for the middle-aged and retired. Likewise, located on the Eastern side of Bali, Sanur is the place for picturesque sunrise, although we didn't manage to see one due to the clouds. Along the beach, music-blasting pubs are replaced by upscale restaurants and resorts. Interestingly, resorts in Sanur deploy an open concept - you can easily enter one as there is no physical barrier between the beach and the resorts,…See More

In Love with Ubud

Ask the locals what they think about Ubud, many of them would tell you that they love it. And so did we upon our first day there. Ubud is an area located in Central Bali, the hub for Balinese arts, culture and rice paddies. Compared to the oversubscribed beaches, Ubud is a cultural paradise situated amidst lush paddy fields.Enjoying views of the rice paddies is therefore a must in Ubud. The best way would be to spend a night at an accomodation situated right beside the paddy fields. Staying at…See More

Back from Bali - Journey & Expenses

We're back! Chilling, shopping and fun were all we had in Bali. In a period of 6 days, we moved from the main tourist beach of Kuta/Seminyak to the green paddy fields of Ubud, and back down to the isolated beach of Sanur. However, the short period of stay meant that we aren't able to explore the less-visited territories of Western & Northern Bali, or even the car-free Lombok island. On hindsight, we could have skipped some of the sightseeing destinations (views aren't that spectacular) and…See More

Seminyak - the place to unwind yourself completely

Located at the famous Western stretch of Bali, Seminyak was the choice of our first 2 days there. Compared to Kuta, Seminyak is the upmarket and quieter counterpart. Indeed, the atmosphere is much more sophisticated and laid-back than other parts of Bali. Though the sands of Seminyak beach aren't the best I've felt (white sands of Redang still tops my list), the area is an amazingly refreshing place to… Continue
