Part 5 - Madrid, This feels good.

This morning we woke up at a less ungodly hour but not by much. Trying to ply ourselves with vacation fueled wine and beer in the evenings is not really helping with the time adjustment and only makes waking up at an early hour all the more painful. So it’s six am and time to mozy up to the Starbucks for a cup an ass spankingly expensive coffee and banana bread for the third day in a row. But the investment is worth every penny when it comes to battling the jetlag booze combo.…See More

About me

I live in Vancouver British Columbia and am married to an amazing and patient girl named Denise and have a five year old son named Noah that is a bigger Star Wars geek than I ever was. That is saying a lot because I almost convinced Denise that we name him Luke but she caught on and said no to that. I have a passion for travel, design, photography, gadgets and my family. I am dyslexic and am working through it finally and so you may find traces of that special gift on my site and don’t mind at all if you point them out.

homeabout the jaypiddysubscribe Part 4 - Madrid, Action Packed

Well we knapped the afternoon away and I woke up in the darkened hotel room that was heavily cooled by the air conditioning. It was actually a little to cold and I stumbled out of bed to turn in down or up or whatever you call that. I was a little perplexed at first of where we even were. Oh ya Madrid that’s cool I thought. Denise and Noah were still asleep and I new that letting them sleep much longer would mean an extremely early wake up and that would not be fun at all. So… Continue

Part 3 - Touchdown in Madrid - We Have Arrived

Well the air is hot and I am definitely as stale as the Kelsey’s meal they tried to fool me into eating on the flight over but I could care less because this trip is now on. We made it and our feet were on the ground in Madrid Spain. We collect our thingsfor under and above our seats and slowly make our way out of the Airbus. As we made it out onto the jetway it got even hotter with the kind of dry heat that you only find in the desert. I know it may… Continue

Picture of the Day - On the Run

This was photo was shot on a road trip that the three of us took through eastern Washington, Oregon and Northern California in the spring of 2004. It was Easter and both Denise and I were a little stir crazy from the long winter shut indoors figuring out how to be parents with and infant child. We blasted south and had thought for some reason that the weather would be warmer that it really was. It was an amazing road trip none the less and the first… Continue

Travel Tip- Use TripAdvisor to Plan your Hotels

Continuing the on the travel theme I thought I would publish my TripAdvisor travel map. If you have not already started using TripAdvisor.com for investigating hotels by reading the reviews of the traveller reviewed properties then I strongly recommend that you do before next trip. The site has been around now for a number of years and there are reviews for hotels just about anywhere you plan on travelling to. I have found helpful reviews for the… Continue
