Chase State Fishing Lake - Kansas

The gravel snapped and popped under the Jeep’s tires as we turned onto the lane that would take us to the lake. I knew that I had come here to photograph a well known waterfall but did not even know where to begin looking. The wind was getting stronger as it was funneled through the hills that bordered the lake. The gray stones lay like debris throughout the hillsides with the larger stone around the crest, like a crown on an ancient king’s brow.

From acrossandabroad.com

Of all the people I met while fishing in Canada’s Arctic, I will remember Aivars the best. He is a man possessed. Obsessed. The quintessential Old Man

Themed travelling - cooking, gardening, gourmet, wine tasting, fishing, sailing, etc.

We were asked a number of times over the past few months to arrange, research and design individual gourmet tours. I hate calling them cooking classes because they can be much more than that. For example, they can be more of the trying/tasting type and not so much about learning how to cook. Or they can include the "how-to-cook" element but instead of attending pre-organized classes, the customer can stay in an 18-century stone house and learn the tips from the hostess herself. Wine tasting can… Continue

Travel to Florida Still a Good Bet

With the reduction in the cost of fuel, traveling to Florida for a winter vacation is one of the most inexpensive ways to get out of the snow and cold weather. Even when Florida has a cold front go through, only about half of the state might get into the freezing range in the dead of night.
