5 Ways to Find an Awesome Cruise

Yep cruise-haters, you read that right - the title says "awesome" and "cruise" in the same sentence. Surprise!

This post is for all of you anti-cruise readers, who would say that going on a cruise is no where near your Bucket list. To be honest, I would have never thought that we would be the kind of guys who would put those words together either, but some great experiences on cruises have completely changed our attitudes.

Open your mind and take a look at the following… Continue

We Really Are a Tandem World

Recently, we were asked how we came up with the name Tandem World. The name signifies multiple things, including our ability to explore the world as a couple. Most importantly, though, it speaks to the fact that we - as world citizens - are all in this together. We are seeking and deserve many of the same things – for instance, happiness, good health and to feel like we matter. As we wrote about… Continue

Nutrition / Fitness and Travel

Since returning from Las Vegas, we've been thinking about staying healthy while traveling. We’re on the road a lot - a few months a year since remodeling our life a while back. Something that we don’t write much about is that, thanks to all that we have learned while traveling, we try to be even more nutrition and fitness… Continue

Vegas – It's A Wrap!

Aria vs. Encore.

Our travel writing assignment in Vegas is over (at least the visiting Vegas part is). We’re back at our home-base, trying to get back to a normal schedule and trying - more than anything - to convince ourselves that we shouldn’t try to duplicate… Continue

What Is It About Vegas?

A people watcher’s paradise.

It’s priceless to see what each visitor’s idea of “cutting loose” looks like in Vegas. People dragging those yards-of-margarita everywhere they go is a crack up. So is the rapid-fire picture taking at every turn and the fascination tourists have with knickknacks. Simple tubes of lip balm become amazing to people because they say “fabulous Las Vegas,” and “winning gummy bears” must actually bring luck the way they fly off of the shelves at… Continue

Did We Really Have Deep Fried Mac 'n Cheese?

Read on for another of our installments direct from Vegas. Warning: you will get hungry just reading.

Someone call an ambulance, please.

We have a new entry for our on-going list of outstanding food moments: mac 'n cheese bites with truffle dipping sauce. Yep, we had those babies at… Continue

Spa Bliss + Food Bliss = Total Bliss

Can I get an Ommm.

I promise, we're still going to get into the details of life here at Encore Las Vegas, part of the Wynn dynasty. For now, though, I want to jump straight to the spa. It's beyond zen in every way.

As we got into in this post, most every resort has what's called a resort fee. Here in Vegas… Continue

From Aria to Encore

Around the world.

According to our day one cab driver, the convention business is picking back up. He eagerly showed us a list of upcoming groups to prove it. As we walk through the casino, we spot hard-core Star Trek fans here for their annual get-together at the Hilton. These people are committed – costumes and everything.

We were then distracted by some Amazing… Continue

Aria Las Vegas - Part Hotel, Part Ikea, Part Office Building

Another day in Vegas as part of our travel writing gig!

The tour continues.

We're anxious to check out what we didn't get to yesterday. Looking out of our floor-to-ceiling 19th floor windows, Aria's pools look very inviting. Frustrated by the $15 "super fast" Internet… Continue

Hot and Bombarded in Vegas

SEA - LAS

Having decided to take on a travel writing project in Vegas, we were eager to get rolling early Friday morning. We had the typical, mostly pleasant experience on Alaska Airlines flight 602 - non-stop from Seattle. We actually gave in to extreme hunger and ordered some food-for-pay. Surprisingly, it wasn't… Continue

The Scoop - We're (Officially!) Travel Bloggers

With our freshly minted website, Tandem World, we're back on the web and ready to do some serious traveloguing and blogging as we attempt to live deliberately. Plus, we're now (officially) travel bloggers.

Since we started writing about our new life a few years back, we've met up with a lot of cool people who've taken an interest in our take on life/travel. Because of our inconsistent web presence (due to more website problems/crashes… Continue
