Most people go on holiday and then just spend their time at the resort or by the beach, why not make it interesting and head off for a Scuba dive. When you go on a beach holiday, you can find that it goes really quickly and all you have done is sun-bathe on the beach.

Bookings for diving holidays have been on the increase since the beginning of the year and it’s no wonder when the ocean is filled with some of the most stunning creations on earth. Diving holidays were not really that big a few years ago, probably because of the prices. Nowadays the prices have dropped to keep in flow with the economic climate that many people can now afford to embark on one. These holidays are great for romance as well, what could be more romantic than taking your partner on a liveaboard cruise and going diving. You don't even need to leave the States as there are lots of diving USA holidays these days.

Maybe the reason that people are going on these diving holidays is because of the environment and not so much about the money. Because the environment is becoming so heavily affected by the global climate, the marine world has been affected too. It makes sense that people would like to visit these places, because more than likely they won't be around at some point. So everyone may want to go on these holidays so they can see the marine life before it is so rare, it will be impossible to find.

All I know is that when I went diving in Egypt I had one of the most amazing times of my life. I really did want to go shark diving in Africa, but the accommodation in Egypt at Sharm El Sheikh diving resort was phenomenal. Diving experiences are available to anyone, I would say that anyone who would like to go on holiday to the Caribbean or Egypt should try it. Seeing a Manta Ray or a shark is a truly amazing experience. Now that the prices have dropped it is available for everyone, it is well worth a think.

Hi Katie and thanks for the post. My husband and I dived in Sharm last year for his 50th and it was truly memorable. Tonight he posted the last in a month-long series of Egypt posts/photos on his photography blog (www.ThePhotoTourist.com) - including some gorgeous underwater pix that echo your sentiment...diving is a wonderful way to get to know a new place. I wrote my own blog post about this - looking at a new destination through the diving community's lens.

Thanks for the reminder - can't wait to get back out there!
