I don't buy or sell e-books about search engine optimization or how to make millions off your travel blog. I've taken a few ideas from fellow bloggers, like finally making the switch from Blogger to Wordpress. I've been told about Google Analytics and Alerts and learned how to use them successfully. I don't claim to be the expert on any given destination. I'm doing travel blogging my own way. I am of the Field of Dreams belief: if you build it, they will come. If I write thoughtful and idea provoking posts, people will read them. And I haven't been proven wrong yet. Travel blogs don't have to be exclusive. They don't have to be written by bestselling authors or famous career breakers. Just maybe, a Southern girl with a wide eyed desire to see the world and document her travels can be a travel blogger with the best of them. I felt like a small fish in a big pond at TBEX '10, but my small fish of a blog will one day be a whale. I just have to give it time to grow.
