Now that the
TBEX Roadtrippers are back home safe and sound (well, except for Peter who escaped Down Under), I think I may have found a little something that may temporarily fill the void.
Marc Horowitz and his buddy Pete are taking a virtual roadtrip across the US via Google maps on Aug 10, 2009. Yep, they'll be pushing those little arrows in Street View all the way across the country. The entire experience will be broadcast live and everyone is invited to sit in the virtual backseat and add their suggestions for stops along the way.
If you're not familiar with Marc, he's an artist with a steady stream of interactive experiences to his credit. He is best known for working his real phone number onto a dry-erase board in a Crate and Barrel photoshoot, just to see who might call...30,000 people dialed!
If you look at Marc's body of work, you'll quickly realize there is no way to predict what might happen on the
Goggle Maps Roadtrip, so who would appreciate this type of adventure more than a bunch of travel bloggers, right?
