Goooooooooooooll!!

World Cup 2010 is HERE!!! I’m so excited about being in a country that will basically shut down for this. The first match is tomorrow between South Africa and Mexico at 9:30 AM Caracas time. This World Cup means so much to so many. For me, it’s always been an amazing display of nationalism. The funny thing is that you don’t even have to be from the country for which you’re rooting (i.e. last time Haiti participated was 1974 :-( ). I’m also ecstatic that it’s the first time it’s being hosted on the continent Africa. For both 2002 and 2006, I was rooting for an African team until the last one was eliminated. Hopefully, one will be holding the trophy on Sunday, July 11th.
