History and art in Tuscany - UNESCO sites

Today I decided to write a new post on my Blog talking about the UNESCO sites in Tuscany, as to promote among my readers a conciousness about sustainability and responsability while traveling or planning a trip. There are not so many UNESCO sites in Tuscany as it should be in my opinion, because this is a Region which is so rich of art, culture, history and beautiful landscape everywhere. In any place you go there is a preserved historical center and almost anywhare you look there is an unspoiled landscape. But the United Nations has its reasons and criteria (as you can read in my post) to choose which sites to add to their list. The United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is the responsible for creating this list of Mankind Natural and Cultural Heritages, with the aim of encouraging the identification, protection and preservation of many sites around the world considered of exceptional value for humanity.
