Travel Blog Exchange

I want different voices for my blog and have failed recruiting guest bloggers, what is the best approach to ensure I attract guest bloggers? Have used www.wiwih.com and haven't been lucky thus far.

Hi Muzi

I would be interested in sending in guest blogs for you.  I work on behalf of a client, www.ComeToCapeTown.com and am always looking for good, well ranked blogs to guest post on about Cape Town.  Your blog would be perfect for my client.

Do let me know if this would be of interest to you and how I might submit the article to you.

Kind regards

Helen

Hi Karen, I do have a link 'Become A Guest Blogger' on my menu bar, however it hasn't worked.

I have a invitation to guest bloggers on my "write for us" link in the blog sidebar and I do get some replies from this. Also if an interesting bloggers contacts me to ask about link exchange I will ask them to do a guest post.

Once your blog becomes established and gains a good reputation and ranking it's easier to get guest posts.

Find someone you'd like to guest blog and then send them an email. Don't ask for too much. I usually will do any guest article or interview that is requested of me.

Ask your readers if they'd like to write a guest post. There may be someone who would be interested, if you just give a little nudge.

I tend to approach people directly, sending an email asking if they'd be interested, although when I knew I'd be traveling and unavailable for three weeks, I wrote a blog post telling everyone I was going to be traveling and asking for help from my readers. I got a good handful, and was able to introduce my readers to a new writer, and in turn introduce the writer to a new audience.

I hope it was win/win.

Appreciate your pointers Craig, am interested on a wider audience. Providing my readers with a new voice enables them to all appreciate other people's writing styles.

Ask yourself what you want from guest blogging. Perhaps:
a) a wider audience
b) a share of a site's influence
c) personal attention
d) sincere thanks
e) a win-win situation

Approach bloggers you like directly rather than working through an agency. Make it personal and provide a professional platform for them to write for.
