I am new and need some help on California!

Hi bloggers and anyone else who stumbles upon this article...

I am new to the Travel blog Exchange and so forgive me if this post is, short, sweet and/or a little shoddy in relation to other posts!

I am a mum of 4 with a passion for travel. The ages of my children are quite well spaced out.... 2, 18, 21 and 26. My two year old has travelled more in the past 2 years than I did from the age of 0-30! So far experiencing parts of the UK, France, Spain, Australia and New Zealand. Some say it is a waste to travel with a child so young, I disagree... He adds a whole new dimension to our travels and embraces every moment, he also deals with jet lag better than the older ones!

To aid my travel bug I decided to share my experiences on-line (internet wasn't around when my older ones were toddling..) I meet lots of first time parents who are scared to travel and often looking for advice which is why I run my business 'Holiday Tots' - individual family-friendly holiday accommodation especially suitable for families looking to holiday with babies, toddlers and pre-school children. I hope to be able to share my finds, and a few more, with families looking to take that first step when travelling with a young family.

Now...

The main reason for this post, other than to introduce myself, is to get some insight information on California. We are visiting in May and are really looking for some useful tips on where to go, what to do and maybe where to stay. I can find lots of information on the really touristy stuff but some 'off the beaten track' info would be gratefully received...
