Seeking Blogger Volunteers for TBEX'11 'Live Research Crew'

RESEARCHERS!

I'm speaking on 'research' at TBEX'11 in Vancouver next week, and need your help!

I'm looking for THREE VOLUNTEERS -- blogger attendees, not speakers or PR folks (though I love you too) -- to participate in a 'Live Research Crew' on stage.

You'll be asked to 'live research' for 15-20 minutes, and sum up what you find briefly to the audience. I can brief you on this via CONFERENCE CALL beforehand. It should be fun.

If you're interested, please write in the comments section below:

* what your blog is
* whether or not you've been to Vancouver before (I'm looking for at least ONE volunteer who hasn't)

and, for fun

* (briefly) what your Canada dream trip would be

I'll pick three by this Saturday (if we get three apps!).

Thanks everyone for volunteering -- and Action_JoJo too (who sent in by email). I picked three random names, by tossing five ballots into a toy drum head five feet away. It took several rounds for ANY to go in, but finally the first three were:

I totally agree with Lindsay and Saadia. If it makes you nervous, then the best thing to do is commit to it first and worry about getting scared later.

I lived in Vancouver after graduating from University for a couple of years.

My dream trip is to ride my bicycle coast-to-coast via the Cross Canada trail. I'm very ashamed that I've traveled on four continents but haven't been across my own country yet. I am, proud, however, that we will soon have a trail all the way across Canada :)

My (not quite brief) Canada Dream Trip?

Ultimate Canada East to West

Quebec City – They speak a different language there, n’est-ce pas? And there’s an ice-hotel nearby!

Churchill - I’ve just got to see those Polar Bears. And I love the idea of the Tundra Buggy Lodge, so I can shoot tons of stills and video even if I’m still in my pajamas.

Banff - assuming I’ve survived the cold, and the Polar Bears, then off to Banff because, well, I’ve never been. Yes, I too want to capture that postcard-perfect shot, but I also imagine it’s a good spot to write and edit while relaxing at some gorgeous resort with a view of Lake Louise…and a spa too.

Vancouver –Because I can never get enough. But this time, I would arrive by the Rocky Mountaineer train, and leave by floatplane. And, it’s a good re-entry point to acclimatize back to the West Coast.

I am also very nervous but figured why not!!

My blog/website is www.fashionistastravel.com I write about fashion, style, accessories, and of course travel. I started it last year and it has grown over night! It is more of a magazine then a blog per say, but I do throw in my own personal touches (thoughts, feelings, likes, dislikes).

This will be my first visit to Vancouver and also to TBEX!

My dream Canadian experience is to live in Montreal (my favorite place in Canada) for an extended amount of time and Teach (that is what I do currently). I have always wanted to Teach in another Country.

*Been to Vancouver?: Negative. This will be my first trip and I couldn’t be more thrilled than I am at this moment! It’s a three for one: Vancouver (always wanted to visit). TBEX (first time attendee of a travel blog conference). Visiting a childhood friend (grew up together in Saudi Arabia, haven’t seen in her AGES!).

*Canada dream trip: Use VIA Rail to go across the country and stop by all the places I know of that I want to see (Banff, Whistler, Gaspe, Calgary, Cross the Arctic Circle, Nova Scotia – ok so the list kind of goes on) and the places I don’t know of (stumbling upon new destinations is always amazing).
