TBEX '11 Location Snaps

Avid TBEX-ers who've been paying attention might already know the location of TBEX '11 in Vancouver. But we wanted to give you a heads-up (and a bird's eye view) of this gorgeous conference center (which was the media center for the recent Vancouver Winter Olympic Games and has won twice for best conference center in the WORLD). Some TBEX notables have already expressed their interest in the space and when our presenting sponsors from Tourism Vancouver, Tourism BC and Canada showed us the space, we were entranced.

From the multiple honeybee hives on the property (it's okay if you're allergic, they're on the roof) to the sustainable grass rooftops, to the breathtaking views overlooking the ocean, we couldn't resist

this meeting space in the middle of the city. Directly across from the port (if you're planning on cruising in) and close to several hotels, including the lovely Fairmont (which has an adorable coffee shop with donuts filled with CHOCOLATE MOUSSE) and Four Seasons (please see my obsession with L'Occitane and attached Shopping Center here).

For those who love sitting, talking and catching up over a beer or two, it's very close to several art galleries, a myriad of coffee shops, pubs and yummy restaurants. When the sun goes down, the Gaslight District is very fun, especially if you're interested in late night pizza and ONLY pizza after a long night of dancing.

When Kim Mance and I went to Vancouver for a site visit, we had a genuinely wonderful time, enjoying the picturesque weather, myriad of things to do and good old Canadian hospitality. TBEX '11 is going to be amazing and we can't wait. Don't forget if you missed out on early bird registration, regular registration opens up September 5th at 6 AM PST.

Comment by Kara Williams on August 24, 2010 at 12:09pm: Yay! I was hoping this was the TBEX 11 spot, as just overnighted at the Pan Pacific, at neighboring Canada Place, prior to an Alaskan cruise. My family and I loved walking on the pedestrian path along the water, watching the floatplanes. AWESOME locale and I bet weather will be just lovely in June.
