In my preparation to hit the road as a Digital Vagabonding Roads Scholar, I've been reading "Vagabonding in the U.S.A." by Ed Buryn. Our world has changed a lot since Ed wrote the book several years ago, but the message is virtually the same: There is an innate human desire and urge to explore, journey and wander. When we try to confine that desire and define what vagabonding is, we quash the notion that we can leave our travels up to chance.
Read more about how Ed describes vagabonding and how I respond in the first installment of my Roads Scholar journey at
my blog.
Happy trails!
