Travel Lessons from John Hughes

John Hughes, director of infamous movies like The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Home Alone, and Vacation may have left a few insights and life lessons (read them at: 6 Life Lessons John Hughes Taught Me). Here's an abridged version of his travel-friendly advice:

- Geeks give good kisses. Think about trading some 'classy' travel time for something geeky and unexpected
- Bring along your 'awkward best friend,' co-stars can be just as important as the main character
- Self-referential looks to camera are NOT A BAD THING, they appear in all of Hughes' films. Take a moment to snap a few shots of yourself, looking like that self-absorbed tourist could get you some of the best photos of your travels
