The off season for rentals in Paris is really from November to March, excluding Christmas and New Year! That being said if you're keen on this August I have 11 to 22 August free in our apartment in Paris - could do a deal!!! AFter that we're chocker until November. Cheers.

Thanks for you msg. Going from trader to travelling in France - have to write the book yet!! But you could read http://thefrenchway.wordpress.com/about/. Sure do offer specials in the Paris apartment for longer stays - but this depends a lot on the season - off season much more negotiable!!!

Would be happy to link! You're a man of my own heart! I used to trade futures when I was a boy, but now follow my dream living in both NZ and France, and adore experiencing the richness of history as you do! Everyone has to find their own formula! Take a peek at my wee Paris hideaway under "Paris Luxury Apartment" on my blog at http://thefrenchway.wordpress.com. Cheers John

They have a bounty board for article requests. But the best way is through the MatadorU program. There is a link to it on my site http://exoticvisitors.com

That MatU course is fantastic. It is teaches you everything you could ever want to know about travel writing. But the best part is that you are instantly placed into a group of some of the best writers out there. The students go on to write for some major publications because the editors are familiar with the program as well as friends with the editors of Matador. As an example, Lola Akinmade is a Matador Alumni and has been published in National Geographic, Forbes Travel, Fodor and hundreds of others.

I used to work for a newspaper but these contacts are a major plus if you want to write pro. I have a feature article being published on Monday. And the good part is that they came to me instead of me having to query. You don't get that too often without the right contacts. Worth checking out.

Ah. Love Toronto. We are setting up a home base in St Thomas but will be exploring every inhabited and several uninhabited island in the Caribbean. Goal is to continue writing for Matador etc and publish a sailing guide book as well as a land based guide book for adventure travel in the Caribbean. Steering away from the typical resort type stuff.
